Fun Fact !
Another captivating aspect of Wymondham is its architectural heritage, most notably the Wymondham Abbey. The Abbey, founded in 1107, is a stunning example of Norman architecture. However, what makes this Abbey particularly unique is the fact that it was originally built as a monastic church with two towers, becoming one of the few in England with this design. The Abbey also holds a somewhat macabre piece of history - it is home to a collection of medieval skulls. These were discovered during restoration work in the 19th century and are now on display, offering a glimpse into the town's medieval past. The Abbey and its history are cherished by the local community and provide an interesting exploration for those interested in architectural and medieval history.
