Withernsea, ensconced in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, is home to a unique architectural marvel that has become synonymous with the town's skyline - the Withernsea Lighthouse. With its idyllic location, this historic lighthouse is far from a typical coastal lighthouse. Instead, it is situated in the middle of the town, making it a rather unusual sighting. This magnificent structure, standing at 127 feet (39 meters) tall, was operational from 1854 until 1976. The lighthouse now serves as a museum, offering a panoramic view of the town and the surrounding landscape from its top, while also housing a memorial to the famous English aviatrix, Amy Johnson.
