The Town of St Just in Penwith, located in the western reaches of Cornwall, is famed for its rich mining history. What makes it truly unique, however, is its status as the most westerly town in mainland England. This geographical peculiarity has endowed the town with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, particularly from the cliffs at Cape Cornwall, a local landmark. The town's mining heritage extends well into the Bronze Age, with remnants of ancient mining activities still evident in the landscape. But it was during the 19th century that St Just truly flourished as a mining town, with the extraction of tin and copper from the area's rich lodes. This mining legacy is so important that much of the surrounding mining landscape has been included in the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site.
