Did you know ?
The Town of Skelton-in-Cleveland, nestled in North Yorkshire, England, has a rich historical tapestry that's woven with fascinating tales. One such tale pertains to the Skelton Castle, the heart of the town. The Castle, now a manor house, dates back to the 11th century and was once the stronghold of Robert de Brus, ancestor of Robert the Bruce, King of Scots. The present building retains some medieval features, but much of it reflects the Gothic Revival style, a result of extensive remodeling in the 19th century. This symbol of architectural evolution paints a vivid picture of the changing artistic sensibilities over centuries, and the influence of Scottish royalty on this English town.
