Fun Fact !
Another lesser-known fact revolves around one of Nefyn's unique geographical features - the 'Porth Dinllaen', a narrow, picturesque, and sandy peninsula. It was once proposed as a potential site for a 'Packet Station', a term used to describe a location for mail-carrying ships, during the early 19th century. The proposal was for Porth Dinllaen to serve as a hub for the main mail route to Ireland. However, the more famous Holyhead in Anglesey was eventually chosen by the Post Office due to its better road connections. This decision significantly altered the course of Nefyn's history, potentially preventing it from becoming a major transportation hub.
