Fun Fact !

Llantrisant also boasts a unique cultural tradition known as 'Beating the Bounds'. This peculiar custom, which dates back to 1346, involves local inhabitants walking the boundary of the old borough, led by the freemen of Llantrisant. The ritualistic procession, covering approximately seven miles, is held every seven years to reaffirm the town's boundaries. A highlight of the event is the carrying of young boys who are 'bumped' on boundary stones around the route. This ritual, though seemingly odd to outsiders, serves to ensure that the younger generations remember the geographical limits of their town, preserving the sense of community and continuity in this charming Welsh town.
