Fun Fact !
Buckingham is also notable for its geographical significance. The town is built around the River Great Ouse, which creates a distinctive loop in this area, and is sometimes referred to as the "Buckingham Bend". This geographical feature has played a crucial role in shaping the town's layout and development. Interestingly, the Buckingham Canal, which was an important transportation route in the 19th century, was built to bypass this loop. Although the canal fell into disuse and was officially abandoned in 1964, efforts are currently underway to restore it, highlighting the town's commitment to its geographical heritage and the preservation of historical infrastructure.
