One interesting aspect of Bromsgrove's history is its significant role in the British cloth industry during the Middle Ages. The town was renowned for Bromsgrove cloth, which was exported all over the world, from Europe to the Middle East. This tightly woven, high-quality woollen material was produced by the skilled weavers and fullers of Bromsgrove. The industry's golden age was between the 13th and 15th centuries, and it played such a significant role in the town's prosperity that it was reflected in the town's coat of arms, which features a weaver's shuttle.
