The town of Alsager, nestled in the heart of Cheshire, England, holds a rather intriguing piece of history that is unknown to many. One of its most notable landmarks, the 'Alsager Manor House', was originally designed and built by the architect, Sir George Gilbert Scott, who is renowned for his design of the iconic London St Pancras Station and the magnificent Albert Memorial. However, the Manor House is not recognised for its architecture alone. It was used during World War II as a base for the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, thus playing a crucial role in the defence of the United Kingdom.
